Team Meeting 10/12

We met without Cheryl (who is at the event on Torture and Accountability) and Christiana (who is in the cities researching the Snoopy statues).

We talked a bit about the homecoming decoration project. We will get together on Friday morning to work on the decorations.

Jessica has been researching the Heikal article. Zach did too. He will give her his research as he can't make the interview. (I added Jess's name onto that UROP in story ideas). She has also been doing some research on the Mysteries project. Interviews are scheduled for next week. The facebook project is not a priority. We need to confirm the status of that with Cheryl.

Kat has been working on Currents. She is scheduled to work on two UROP articles with Christiana.

Zach has finished the fish contest story. He sent the link to Sharon Moen for her approval. Zach is going to look at the list of CLA UROPs to see if one of them interests him.

Kathleen has been working on Currents. There has been so many events to add. She worked on homepage changes and also updating story ideas and keeping people informed of changes. Working on UMD Calendar of Events photo changes. Also working on updating UMD Facts.

Sue and Betty stopped by. We made introductions.

  2. This morning I arrived early by accident so before my actual time to clock in I worked on decorations.

I have been researching "The Mysteries" for my UROP piece and I have left message with Fay Maas about their UROP project.

I began researching Heikal for the interview next Wednesday and was added that to my other two UROP projects in the Story Ideas Doc.

For now, the Facebook project has been postponed.

I met Sue for the first time at our team meeting.

  3. Had web team this morning. Worked on the final piece for Les and Matt's drug commercialization today. The final release goes out tomorrow at 10:05. Christiana will send. Finalized the "who does what" for the media.

Have been working on the Silver Bay Sustainability Demonstration Project.

Matt is in tonight and I'm working with him on the Annual Report and a new design for the AILRC piece. I started on the American Indian Resource Center materials.

Contacted Chuck Frederick at the DNT about a UMD response to the op ed on Sunday.

Working with the businesses that sponsor the campus directory. They come next Thursday. Campus directory will be here soon. This week!

Christiana and I sent out a list of LSBE scholarships to hometown newspapers.

    Whew! It's only Monday.

  4. I have met with Prof. Millslagle about his UROP Project, and I am going to return to his office at 3:30 to get pictures of his project in action (they will be testing this afternoon). I will come back into the office right after that to drop the camera off to Cheryl, so it's not gone for too long.

  5. Worked on Currents yesterday. There were a lot of last minute items to be added. I finished Currents up today, wrote the email and sent it out.

I made corrections to the two articles going up on the homepage today. I started writing the 60 words yesterday. Finished those today, cropped photos, and sent the changes to Andy after C & C had had a chance to look things over.

Yesterday I also sent text and picture changes to Matt to change out the UMD Events Calendar. Helped the secretary at Women's Resource Center post an event on the calendar.

Met with Patty and gave her an overview of articles that might work for the View. I cropped a couple of photos for their use. Put the flashmob video on the homecoming article page.

I left a message for Olaf Kuhlke regarding a UROP advisor. I had sent him an email last week and hadn't heard back from him.

I have an interview scheduled with Sara Thomsen the playwright for Pastures of Plenty tomorrow morning.
