August 10
Cheryl is working on bidding the Bridge, and bidding the mailer (which Matt doesn’t know about yet). For the Bridge, she is getting more photos for Matt, working with Brett to take photos of Ianni Hall, writing the captions for the Ianni Hall Bridge story, finishing the Chancellor’s column, and finishing the strategic plan story. She is working on the strategic plan rollout (news conference, mailing and bookmarks) and the Ianni Hall dedication. She’s working on getting a truck for the State Fair and other State Fair arrangements. She’s helping on the Twins event.
She will meet with a possible intern, Eliza on Friday. She is working on getting a new student to do Currents (good idea Kathleen) and getting a place for Zach to stay so he can come back a week early. She is working with Lucy to secure the team through March 2.
Kathleen set up the homepage for next week and finished the homepage for this week. After the meeting she revised the Tweed storytelling news item and rewrote the Eddy piece. (beautifully, I might add.)
Christiana is writing the class of 1951 stories for the Bridge. She is sending a business announce to the campus about SWAT team practice at UMD. She is working with KBJR to film the precambrian camp. She and Kathleen took the NRRI tour.
Abby finished Tim Bates and did short descriptions of the championship wins for the Bridge.
Matt did an Ianni Hall dedication invitation, a T-shirt for Welcome week, and a lot of work on the Bridge (which is beautiful.) He finished the bookmark. Campus Directory starts next week!
To plan for: We need to make a flyer for new faculty packets about How to Get Your News and Events Published. We should schedule a training session for September and get it into the handout. IDEA. What if Abby looks through the last year of clippings and writes down the names of UMD faculty who are quoted. Then, let’s invite them to join the Expert’s List. I noticed many prominent faculty aren’t listed yet.
