Hi, All. I ran out of time today at the office, so I am blogging from home. Hopefully the PR gods will smile on me and this will work.
Cheryl mentioned that our Getting the Word Out event went well. Sue Banovetz started this week, and she and Cheryl (and many others) have been dealing with a media crisis. The next Bridge will come out in Jan-Feb. It will focus on UROPS.
We reviewed some possible articles for the Bridge from LSBE, SCSE, and SFA. We chose what we thought were the most compelling and assigned them around the table. Kathleen will update the story ideas doc with a Winter Bridge section.
Christiana has been working on a number of news releases. They are: Heartwalk (over 400 UMD people participated), Eun-Kyung Suh at the Weisman, and Eddy Lecture. She hasn't heard back from Jay Austin on LLO Grant news release.
Christiana is following up on SFA Society of Promethean event. She has contacted the Dance Team - possible story early next year. She is going to the farm with Champ (aka Zach) tomorrow. She blogged Dan Fishback on Area Voices.
Jessica is finishing up the homecoming homepage article. She and Christiana attended the first sign language club meeting and our working on their article.
Zach is working on the goldenrod article and finishing it up. He's also been doing various projects with Cheryl this week.
Kat is working on Currents which goes out next week.
Kathleen has also been working on Currents. Corrected the broken links this week. She wrote 60 words for homepage, cropped photos and sent changes to Andy. She updated the index. She has been doing a lot of editing and proofing. She is working on the faculty art show article which is due on Tuesday.
Other business - Christiana mentioned the homecoming department decoration contest. She asked our students for their ideas. They were enthusiastic.
Hey, I have a quick question. On Tuesday, as I left, I tucked a piece of paper into the old laptop. On it were the corrections I need to make to the Goldenrod story. By any chance, has the person(s) who used it since me seen it?
ReplyDeleteWell, we couldn't accomplish the 'Champ on the farm' shoot today: too rainy. I came back and made the corrections I've memorized to the Julie Etterson story, but it would be fantastic if someone could tell me if they come across that paper from the laptop.
ReplyDeleteI helped Kathleen with Currents for a bit, and also began the Sea Grant story on the event in the Twin Cities; one thing is, I don't think Chancellor Black is a judge; It lists the judges/judge candidates, and unless Chancellor Black is "American Culinary Federation Certified" I am moderately sure he is there to chat with guests.
