Matt is working on the postcard for the Bridge. He is working on the Campus Directory which has changes. He is working on the invite and the program for the gala. The Giving Plan brochure is being checked.
Christiana is working on the annual media passes email. She is working on media release for Twins Game and Diversity project. Brief for next week is Diversity, Planetarium renovation, and Twins Game. She will be contacting Adam about Gates Millenium Scholar, and she will contact Joyce Strand about Welcome Back SCOPE dinner. She is working on Hogie Scholarship article and has a meeting with the V2V professor and students tomorrow.
Kathleen has been working on homepage changes. Currents went out yesterday and she has started the next Currents. She updated the story ideas after meeting about them with Cheryl and Christiana. Military Friendly article is ready to go. She will work on Susan Mulholland article tomorrow. Kathleen will make sure the Bridge stories that are on dreamweaver and ready to go when they are needed. She will also proof the Bridge. She needs to update the team schedule with Zach's schedule info.
I finished updating the planetarium events through the month of September, and got all of those names and emails for Christiana.

I redid the planetarium entries on the calendar, photocopied those directory pages that Cheryl asked for (they are sitting in a pile beside the originals on her desk) and got some of the papers I needed to Sheila. I'll be back at 2, for a while

the Bridge is online for review before going live. I will update the Bridge website soon but have a temporary place holder for now.
I put the bridge online, and put up some (admittedly horrible) headlines; do with them what you will, I would honestly rather they were changed. The only thing I didn't do is change the pictures: those are still from the last issue, and need to be updated. I also checked on the numbers that Cheryl wanted changed for the directory: only the "student acct receivable" was wrong (it was a professor in the department of economics... oops). I did not have time to start adding the planetarium events to the calendar, I will have to do that tomorrow (Tues.)

ReplyDeleteCame in on Sunday and worked on the Bridge in Dreamweaver and on the Campus Directory. The Directory seems very close. I'll need help with the Bridge on-line this week.
I hope that when the Campus Directory is out the door, and when the Bridge is mailed and on-line, we will be a little calmer.
First thing this morning we received good news. Jessica Coffin will be able to join us as a work study, along with Katarina.
We will all need to help train our new team members. Things to learn: how to blog, how to enter events on the on-line calendar, and how to post stories in Dreamweaver. Also, we have a certain public relations editing style. Some articles on that are in the student book.
More good news... the FOX news story is coming together for tomorrow. Identified a student and lined up the photo shoot for 12-1:30pm.
My day is packed with meetings on Tues. Wednesday is better. The first team meeting for Fall will be at 2 pm. Wed.
I'll be in Minneapolis on Thurs and back for the Ianni event on Friday.
Thanks Kathleen and Christiana for bringing the student computer upstairs. That will help with training. Thanks Matt for whipping through all of the projects on your plate. You're a man on fire. Thanks Zach for faithfully blogging and for jumping right in on the Bridge on-line.

Today I made the changes Cheryl asked me to make, as far as I could: there were two separate things I couldn't find a place for, so left them in the word document but didn't add them to the bridge. The things I DID make all of the changes to are the following sections:

Those are the ones that were up in Dreamweaver, and/or I could find and identify on my own as the places where things needed changing. Kathleen helped me look for more pages (a place to put UMD News, etc.) but we couldn't find anywhere it would go for sure, and didn't want to mess anything up by not knowing.
Wonderful Day. Thanks Zach for working on the Bridge in Dreamweaver. I had tons of meetings. The FOX photo shoot went very well. Our new director will be on campus next Mon, Sept 19 for a crisis plan meeting. We also have our Get Publicity meeting coming up Sept. 27 at 2 pm in Tweed. Bridge and Bridge mailer are being printed! Am off to vote.
ReplyDeleteYesterday and today I've been working on the next issue of Currents. Spending some time locating events that haven't been sent into currents@d.umn.edu. I will start training Katarina on currents tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI've also been contacted by a few people who wanted to confirm how to get stuff in currents, etc. It's great to know people look to us for help.
Yesterday, I added photos to the archaeology article. Today I wrote the 60 words and cropped photos for homepage changes. Christiana proofed them and I sent changes to Andy. Updated the homepage news index.
I've been working (and reworking) the team calendar- adding work study people.
