Christiana finished the Brief. She wrote the Huskies news release and the UMD Farm news release. She also compiled a news release by school analysis. We are heavy on CLA and SCSE, not so much on SFA and LSBE. CEHSP lags behind.
Matt is working on the Save the Date for the wine event. The Ianni Hall invite is in progress. The bookmark went to print, and he is working on the t-shirt. He needs to work on the calendar. He is having trouble with accessing it through his Mac.
Kathleen edited the Storytelling at the Tweed article for the Bridge. She has an interview with Dan Fishback on Monday. No word on the Pikka Scholarship. Cheryl will follow up with Tricia. Kathleen has been editing things for Cheryl and Christiana. She has also been working on homepage changes and the next issue of Currents.
Cheryl said she hadn't heard anything from Fox television so she thinks that the education series probably won't happen. She recently completed a Twin Cities business feature with LJ. Ianni Hall dedication is 9/16. She and Christiana are working on the news release. Cheryl is working on the Strat Plan coordination.
We reviewed the Bridge. Cheryl finished the McCray article and the Phillips article. She reminded the development team about the Development Scrapbook. Susan Mack will be on the Blue Heron and get pictures there. Cheryl will contact Rob about pictures taken by Woman Today at the Big Dig.
After the meeting...re-edited Bridge articles, MAP and MTAG--they are both under 200 words. Working on NSF and Isaac Odim. Sent out UMD Farm news release, posted blog entry for Huskies game, and sent Brief to Adam in the Twin Cities.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow I plan to finish editing NSF and Odim, post two blog entries (PreCambrian Camp and UMD Farm), send out two news releases (State Fair and PreCambrian Camp), and clean my desk off. That's the plan anyway!

Today...edited Bridge articles (Isaac Odim and NSF), sent both to Matt with only the Odim photo. Suggested that Matt choose the photo for NSF since there are so many.

Called Mindy Granley about a sustainable car for the Chancellor during the State Fair parade. Left a voicemail.
Compiled a news release for Majoub about the upcoming fire rescue training at the UMD-owned property on Woodland. Haven't heard back from him yet and I had requested that he send photos and details before 4:30 p.m. today so that I could send it out. I might have to take care of that tomorrow.
Star Tribune called and asked if we had a Stormchaser Club at UMD--I called Randel Hanson and he immediately said "no, but we should! How cool!" Yep, Randy is a great prof and I already wish I could write more about his UMD farm efforts.
Organized and filed all those darn papers on my desk.

Interviewed Dan Fishback today. He didn't have a lot of time but we covered a lot of ground quickly. Nice guy. I started writing the article.

Finished the Dan Fishback article. I put it on a Dreamweaver page. Christiana looked it over, then I sent the link to Dan's executive assistant.
Emailed Anne Dutton again about a picture for the Bridge.
I showed Christiana how to create a class note for the Bridge. Lori provided the graduation dates. Sent them to Matt for a box feature.
I checked currents and umdnews. There was a new experts list addition. I notified Matt.

Have a proposal for Lucy about funding our positions. Am interviewing Eliza on Friday. Christiana and I will have to do a release on a SWAT team running around our campus (exercises). Have to contact housing about letting Zach in earlier because he can work here the last week of August! There's more, mostly lots of little things that add up to a headache!
Thanks for all you do. I am so proud of you and us. It was a great feeling to tell Sue about our team. When we say it out loud, it's amazing to see all of what we do!
