  1. Yesterday....

Fixed dates on the News stories.

Added a news story and a photo, created new month indexes.

Had a meeting. Looked at a few invites.

Went down to glensheen and got a few photos of the buildings and trees. Not very many of them but I think a few might be able to make something interesting. I will upload them and send a new draft of the invite up to Kate tomorrow.

Worked on Wikipedia today a lot.

Fixed Dr. Black's page, adding references.

Fixed Dr. Black's and the UMD photos I added by adding sources and more meta information.

    Looked at keyboards for Christiana.

    Posted a new news release.

Met with Carrie about the Development DC invite. She wants to go with the capital building one, and wants it finalized tomorrow. I will get to work on it right when I get in and send it up so it can be printed.

Did the Centers and Institutes section of Wikipedia, added Retrieved info and fixed the links within the references themselves.

  2. Reworked the DC invite. Made the RSVP card.

Talked to Cheryl and Brett about getting the proof of the Strategic Plan in.

Talked to Admissions, the Hub and emailed International about getting students for photos in the Hub.

Made a new copy of the Strategic Plan with Bill's Addition... It turns out though that he wanted it added somewhere in the current letter. I'm not sure where though.

Talked to Andy about making Directory changes.

Worked up a new idea for the Chancellor's Gala. Also gave Kate a few options for colors on the simple idea.

Carrie sent me a few changes for the DC invite. Made those and sent them back... I think it's about done.

The proof came in the afternoon. Talked to Kit and Brett. A few problems.

Rhonda will send Cheryl a PDF proof. Kit has a few changes.

Cheryl - check cover and back cover photos. Third page check for guide boxes that shouldn't be there.

  3. This morning Cheryl, Christiana and I reviewed Bridge articles (who will write what and who will edit what) and homepage stories. I confirmed with Matt that we should edit our articles as we see fit and then when he lays out the magazine, he will let us know if we need to edit the articles further.

Checked currents email. Added more content to Currents, printed it for Cheryl, and made the corrections.

Checked umdnews email and updated story ideas doc.

Made corrections to Anne Dutton's article. She will send a photo when she finds one.

  4. I arrived at work today to find my office had been broken into. The perpetrators seem to have been targeting a specialized desk that may be worth a large sum of money on the black market, as it was motorized.

The break-in occurred between the hours of 5:00pm Monday, July 18th and 2pm Tuesday, July 19th.

I have spent the first hour of work dusting for finger prints or other evidence that could have been easily overlooked by earlier investigators.

The perpetrators also left a ransom note with a possible clue to the whereabouts of the desk... this note is at the hand writing experts verifying it's credibility.

Currently, I have no suspects and no one has stepped forward with information. The investigation is ongoing and I ask that if you have any information please call 8706.

I have ruled out the possibility of Kathleen and Christiana being involved as they have left a note explaining their lack of involvement and motive.

  5. Yesterday I worked on layout out the Bridge for a while and then Cheryl gave me the new version! So it made it a lot easier!

    Posted a News Story.

    Checked Wikipedia. No weird updates!

Made a few changes for Carrie on the DC invite. After it was approved I sent it out to the printer.

Edited the Homepage stories page. Made it so the titles would stop wrapping down. It's now smaller but it looks a lot better and works better too.

Went right the the Multimedia Hub to help Bret with his photo. We got a few good ones. Should be something worth using. It's such a cool room!

Worked on the Bridge for a while. Mostly working on emptying the pages and adding page numbers and categories for the pages.

    Updated the Experts List.

    Posted a News Story.

and of course looked for my desk
