Zach has finished the holiday tree story. He has a few updates to make to the iPad story. His UROP meeting with the person for violent media enjoyment paradox is next Thursday. The Tobin Stanley article is up. It can't run on the homepage until after the Star Tribune runs their article. Mike Montano hasn't gotten back to him.
Jess said her UROPs are almost done. Mysteries is finished. Heikal is being edited. She is meeting with Jean Baptiste for his photo shoot. She has a few more questions for him and then will finish that article. The Civil Engineering Masters article is done.
Kat has written and edited the Puppet UROP. It is on Dreamweaver. She received a couple of changes from the student.
Christiana has been working on a lot of news releases and is waiting for approval to send them out. They are: diversity award, Carmen Latterrel, NSF Chippewa Language video, Andrea Schokker. She sent the holiday tree news release to the Statesman and KUMD. Most of the television stations had already covered it. She sent out the news release for the civil engineering masters. She sent out the LLO Nat Geo info to Biz Buz. She is working on a news release for American Blues Theatre. She is also working on the Brief.
Kathleen put her UROP on a dreamweaver page. The faculty advisor is in Australia this week and she will speak with him next week. She is still trying to find an LSBE UROP student to interview. She put together a google docs for the UROP projects with contact info and links to articles. She worked on homepage changes yesterday, edited articles, cropped photos, wrote 25 words, and updated the index. She notified LJ that an LSBE article was going up on the homepage. They are probably going to put it up on their homepage. She has been working on Currents - a lot of notices still coming in. UMD Events Calendar pictures need to change out next week so she has been coordinating that. She updated a couple of media emails that had come back as bad. She emailed the student employees asking for their spring semester schedules when they have them.
Jessica and Kat will team up to do the Alert System article. Hopefully that can be done by Tues. They will also team up to interview Shawn Grund, an alumnus who volunteered in Rwanda with the Peace Corp. We scheduled that article for January after J-term when the students are back.
\iPad/app story is up on the homepage right now with the tag "app". I wasn't sure quite how to write it, because the seminar covered so much stuff and moved around so much; I know there will probably be some changes to make before it goes up next week. Also, I am going to need pictures. I will send out an email and see if anyone will be available early next week. I also made labels, helped compile a list of university history departments, and picked a stocking. See everyone next week
ReplyDeleteThe Heikal story is in final edits and being approved by those interviewed. Mysteries is online thanks to Cheryl. CE Masters is online also.
ReplyDeleteI met with Jean-Baptiste for his photoshoot today and clarified a few more details from him. The final edits will be done on Wednesday.
Kat and I are taking on two dual projects. I have tried to contact Taek Kwon about his ALERT system (left voicemail) but have received no response.
Hopefully we hear from him soon and can finish the article at least before winter break.
Finishing touches on Jean-Baptiste article today. Follow up with Professor Taek Kwon on the ALERT system article. I left a message for him again. It has been pushed back to next week also.
ReplyDeleteWednesday photos will hopefully be added to Jean-Baptiste online if Brett is finished with them.
